Let’s explore the importance of taking care of our conscience, the consequences of neglecting it, and the steps we can take to strengthen it, so that we can live more fulfilling lives and make morally sound decisions.
We live in a world of mistakes and offenses, the creator has implanted a redeeming quality inside us, which we call Conscience. However, some people are destroying their conscience. But how do they do it?
Silence
They Silence it. They ignore the conviction, push it aside, and make no corrections. When individuals want to avoid confronting their conscience, they may choose to silence it by ignoring its convictions and pushing it aside without making any corrections.
Corrupt
Additionally, they corrupt their conscience by changing the rules. They redefine what is known as right and wrong for their benefit as an offender.
They Sear it.
The seared conscience is like a hot iron that flattens or cuts off the flow, resulting in a lack of sensitivity to what is right or wrong.
Your healthy and active conscience is a redeeming friend
In all aspects of life, such as morality, relationships, transactions, and leadership, a healthy and active conscience is a valuable asset. To preserve it, it’s important to take care of it, nurture it, and listen to it.
Admit the mistake
If you make a mistake, welcome to the club but do something about it. Do what you can as fast as you can to humble yourself, admit the mistake, seek forgiveness, seek understanding so you can reduce your chances of repeating the error.
It’s natural to make mistakes in life, but it’s how we handle them that truly counts. Being proactive in admitting our mistakes, seeking forgiveness and understanding, and taking steps to prevent repeating the same error can not only help us grow as individuals but also strengthen our conscience. By doing so, we can better navigate life’s challenges and make morally sound decisions.
Live free
By taking care of and nurturing our conscience, we can live free by allowing God’s gift to grow in us.
Our conscience is a powerful tool. It guides us through life’s challenges and enables us to make morally sound decisions. However, it is also fragile and can be destroyed or corrupted by our own actions. That’s why it’s crucial for us to take responsibility for protecting it.
The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
