In the intricate dance of human relationships, the persistent specter of inner conflict often arises, fueled by the deep-seated emotions associated with insecurity. This article delves into the profound connection between inner conflict and insecurity, exploring the various facets of this emotional tapestry that weaves through our lives. From the palpable sense of threat to the nuanced expressions of fear, worry, and frustration, we unravel the common threads that bind these emotions together. Join us on a journey to understand the roots of this internal struggle and discover insights that shed light on the paradoxical nature of fearing the loss of something we never truly possessed.
Inner conflict and Insecurity
Insecurity is the root of conflict. Inner conflict and conflict between two or more persons. There are many feelings associated with insecurity. Some of the most common: a sense of threat, fear, worry, anxiety, offended, frustration, and anger.
All these words or phrases lead toward one very strong feeling: a sense of losing control.
Ironic. We fear losing something we never had.
I don’t need any scientific research to convince me that insecurity takes years off of my life. Insecurity and all of her cousins are both a cause and an effect. They cause me to act out in unbecoming ways. Behaviors that produce more problems. And MORE is the effect.
But what causes insecurity?
Bad theology, Bad psychology, Bad thinking.
Rick Warren’s best-selling book, The Purpose Driven Life, starts out with four words: It’s not about you.
Those four words might feel like a slap in the face. If they do, it’s the kind of slap you probably needed. It is a life-giving slap. It is a wake-up call. It’s a reality check.
If you embrace those four words, they will keep on giving like a freshwater spring from the depths of the earth. When you step off the throne of being the king or queen of your life, you enter into a whole new reality. The reality of trusting in God.
Good theology is essential to healthy living and a life well lived. Trusting God does not mean that you sit in the middle of the room with lighted candles around you thinking about nothing. Doing nothing.
It is about so much more… to be continued.
