John Hewitt is Jim’s guest this week! It’s hard to know where to start to introduce John but let’s just say if you have ever used a tax preparation company to do your income taxes, there’s a good chance you have done business with one of his companies. John Hewitt co-founded Jackson Hewitt, founded Liberty Tax Service, and founded Loyalty Brands. He is a master at building and growing businesses through franchising. The two tax companies he founded represent two out of three of the largest tax service companies! He is also the author of the book “iCompete: How My Extraordinary Strategy for Winning Can Be Yours” in which he shares many of his mistakes and successes throughout his long successful career as an entrepreneur.

John tells Jim about his “not so normal” personality and how he can’t relate to people who aren’t willing to take risks and go for big hairy audacious goals! John thinks of it like this,

“Not everyone that sets high goals is a high achiever but no one that sets low goals is a high achiever.”
