Episode 4: Influence: Part 1

Today’s episode is on the 10 commandments of influence. Jim dives into the topic of influence and its impact on leadership. He will be discussing the ideas presented in Dr. Lloyd Lewan’s book “To Be a Leader” and the influence they had on his life.

Jim and Dr. Lewan had a unique relationship, where they would break bread together and discuss the wear and tear of Jim’s life. Dr. Lewan was a man of grace, wisdom, and moderation. Because of that, Jim valued his guidance.

While having a vision and focus is essential to get the ball rolling in leadership, sustaining good leadership over time requires influence. Influence is the grease that keeps the leadership journey running smoothly. Additionaly, it builds trust, which is necessary for people to follow you and be influenced by your sincerity and constant behavior.

Dr. Lewan’s book lists the 10 Commandments of Influence, which Jim will share his commentary on in this episode. These commandments are the guiding start for anyone seeking to become a great leader and build a lasting legacy.
