We live in a world of mistakes and offenses. But the creator has implanted a very valuable asset inside us. It is a redeeming quality. We call it Conscience.
Some people are destroying their conscience. How do they do it?
They Silence it. They ignore the conviction. They push it aside and make no corrections.
They Corrupt it. They change the rules. What generally is known as right and wrong takes on new definitions for the benefit of the offender.
They Sear it. Like a hot iron flattens or cuts off the flow, a seared conscience is one that no longer flows.
In morality, relationships, transactions, and leadership, your healthy and active conscience is a redeeming friend. Take care of it. Nurture it. Listen to it.
If you make a mistake, welcome to the club but do something about it. Do what you can as fast as you can to humble yourself, admit the mistake, seek forgiveness, seek understanding so you can reduce your chances of repeating the error. Live free by allowing God’s gift to grow in you.
The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
